About

Here I am, six and a half decades in and finding my way among the creatives.

How luck am I.

Poet, writer, singer, doodler, thread and fabric manipulator:

I went to three High Schools. That wasn’t unusual for an Army brat nor was the fact the schools were spread out over 2 continents. Lived in 11 different houses by the time I was 18. It may have been 10 if you dont count the time we moved in and then move out because someone outranked us. Texas, Maryland, Berlin, Germany, Huntsville, Alabama, Frankfurt, Germany, and finally Ft. Devens, Mass. A series of more moves around the Bay State and Vermont, New Hampshire, and New York until 1983 and the last move to Raleigh, NC. I have been here more than half my life now.

I got a degree in Home Economics, Textile Design because I was drawn to the weaving department. I abandoned the journalism degree I had planned and went where I felt I excelled. A few regrets but a degree from the University of Vermont and away I went. To work in a jewelry store, then Ulster County Social Services in Kingston, New York. I always think its funny when Law and Order has to retrieve a body from the country way far away in Ulster County. 2 hours tops. Had a couple kids oh got married first moved to Raleigh. Got divorced and worked for 31 years at the local Harley-Davidson dealership. It was pretty cool. They were just starting to market the clothing and I had the experience from other miscellaneous jobs.

So here I am having been la-tired in February before the Covid-19 lock downs. Was not planning on retiring but am happy not to be facing the public.

Now, I am doing the things I dabbled at on the side always claiming to not have time. I do tend to stay busy. Did I mention my 2 accomplished daughters and their equally talented children
